Cause:
Computer Using non amplified speakers
Speakers not connected or configured properly
Windows audio not setup properly
Solution:
Are your speakers amplified? If your speakers do not have a power source of their own the volume can be lower then a set of amplified speakers.
Ensure that your speakers are connected to line out section of your sound card When connected to other portions of the sound card it is possible for little or no sound to come out.
Check the volume on the speakers
Finally if you have Windows 95 / Windows 98 / Windows NT ensure that in the volume control properties accessed at the bottom right hand corner of the screen is turned up.
