The answer to this is no they are not the same even thou they are similierin some ways xp and me are two different operating systems Me would be the home edition version of Windows 2000 Professional ME stands for Meillenium Edition As for for windows Xp it is the newest version of the windows Operating system There are two versions of it as well there is the professional and the home edition Depending and what your needs are whethere it is to serve the net or set up a network is where you will decide what version is good for you.
