my computer(a four year old hand me down with win 98) was working fine but today on startup its suddenly is asking for a bootable disk(which i dont have) to be put in the floppy drive and refuses to go any further....the computer only got used to access the net 56k..and no downloads/changes were made to it previously..whats causing this?virus?hard drive failure? and how to overcome this dilemma!!

What they asking bootable disk is window 98 boot disk you must insert the dsik to solve any issues if not you wont get beyond that as for the boot disk try gettin it from someone or somebody
