I currently have a cable internet connection, and one laptop computer. I have read all these articles about wireless networking in the home, and I think I have the basics down. However, in reading these articles, I never read anything about setting up one computer, to be used wirelessly. My question is "Is it possible for me to use my laptop computer, wirelessly, to connect to the internet in my own home"? What I mean is, can I follow the guidelines for setting up a "wireless network", but set it up for one laptop computer only? If it is possible, what would I need to buy, along with a wireless PC Card, for the notebook? A wireless router or access point or both or neither. Also, what else would I need? I am looking for the bare essentials only (not a lot of money on hand currently). I forgot to say that I am familiar with companies such as Boingo, that offer these services, at a steep price, but since I already have a cable internet connection, I would rather go that route. Thanks.

You could have a wireless network in you house even if it's only with one computer Here's what you could do Since you already have cable modem bya wireless router that should cost you no more than $120 and buy a wireless netwok card for you laptop Follow the intructions of the router and you should get your laptop online in no time
