What can I do about the vertical lines running up and down on my laptop screen?

At start up, my laptop displays verticle lines running up and down the screen. I can not perform any functions, what might the problem be?

There could be something wrong with the plasma screen, it might have been damaged, from being dropped or knocked You should call the computer that you brought the laptop from to get it fixed Go to the laptop manufacturers website and they should be able to elp you It also helps if you have a valid warranty on your laptop I have an IBM A22m laptop that had the same problem It was under warranty from IBM and they fixed it free of charge They also fixed it within 5 days through air mail hope tihs helps you..
