What are the white lines flashing along my screen?

heya, i have just started building my own computer, and i put all the things in the right places but every time i start it up it just has white lines flashing along the screen, i dont know what it is,

You say you just started building your own computer and put all the things in the right places but did you configure you hardware correctly You see it is more than just putting everything in the right slots You must configure your hard drive to run as master, you do this by placing the jumpers that come on the back of the hard drive accordingly You must also configure the jumpers on the motherboard itself You do this because you want the Processor to run correctly You must also make sure the cables are placed in there sockets properly, for example lineing up pin 1 This is very important in order for your PC to work correctly If you did all these things then that is great, try checking if the Video Card is seated properly, this might do the trick.
