Window xp

I downloaded updates for windows XP (Q817287 and 811493). Aferwards my computer significatnly lost performance. I used system restore to restore my system to before the updates and its working fine now. Are these updates necessary? Are others having the same problem?

The updates are necessary its called bugfixes i assume you to install those updates to keep your system running smoothly For me i never had any problems installing updates , afterward when finish installing reboot the computer to take affect.
