Problems logging on

i am havingf problems logging onto the internet...my provider went through the steps to see if that was the problem and it's not...when my hourglass is on the toolbar or the start menu it is costantly there and i can't click ont anything from the toolbar shortcut...but i can click on my desktop icons...but i can't log on to the internet from there ither...and when i try to log off it says that some apllications are still running and there is not here on the task list...how can this be...pls help...

What i may suggest is a couple of solutions You may want to do a disk clean up in the system tools to speed things up a bit You may want to go to your conrol panel and then go to system and then hardware to see if all your hardware is working properly if you don't see anything weird such as question marks and stuff then everything should be ok then after that what you might want to do is unistal your internet providers software and reinstal it and see if it works from there you should solve your problem somewhere inbetween or after all these steps
