Why can I not remove an older version of Norton anti-virus? I have removed or deleted every file I can find that has anything to do with Norton or anti-virus. And yet when I try to load a new version of Norton I get an error message saying I still have an older version of the application that must be removed before loading the new software. How do I find and remove files that could be related to Norton Anti-virus? I do not want to work in the Regedit area for fear I will get the blue screen of death wehn I am done.

One common solution i would suggest is reloading your old norton anti-virus and then going to your control pannel and click on the add or remove programs There should be an uninstal button there for the norton antivirus there before thou your reinstal the program go there to see if there is a uninstal button there already if there isn't then just do what I just suggested that should do the trick
