I tore an old computer apart and am trying to put it back together. I had to add an old HD and some RAM. The motherboard is a GCT-8IV. I can put all the pieces back in, and when I turn it on it makes computer-like noises and the light on the floppy drive comes on but I'm not getting any output to my monitor, instead it runs test patterns. I am sure the monitor works. I have tried another graphics card, both a Trident and an ATI... I was wondering basically what the problem sounds like it might be with. Note that this is my first time at this so it could be something I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

Will yes did something wrong, the first thing you need is some instucation to help you out. Then you need to check every thing you may put the IDEcable in wrong or using the wrong bus.The griahic card, also need to mak sure that it is in real good or else it won't work. And check every thing to see if their in good
