I am using Win 98se OS, I am having problems adding a USB Flashdrive to my computer. I have 2 existing USB devices working presently. I added a 4 port hub and both my devices continued to work. But when I go to add the USB Flashdrive to my computer it will not recognized that device. I know it works because I have installed it on other computers. I have gotten USB driver updates from Windows and VIA. Is there any place else I can check for updates? Or do you have any other ideas on what to check on. I am at a loss!!

Thank You,

Seefield

Check the USB version of your computer port, USB hub and your USB Flashdrive compare, It will be best if they all have the same version.

Check the drivers, go to the Brand of the USB device Website and check to see if they have some new release of update Download it and install it, Also make sure it will support for windows 98.

If you cann't find it then update your windows 98 by going to Microsoft website (windowsupdate.microsoft.com) Download the Windows drivers.

try to install the USB FLashdrive without interfacing the USB hub If it work than the USB Flashdrive either is not compatible with the USB hub or doesn't work with hub.

You might wan to disconnect other devices when you use the USB flashdrive Also try to switch it different ports on the back of your computer or infront of it.
