When ever I start my computer, my internet explorer looses it's sound settings. For example, in control panel under sounds there is a setting for "Start Navigation", I set this sound for "start.wav" which is basically a clicking sound. This way I know when a link has been selected and whenever the enter key has successfully been pressed, because it gives a clicking sound. It's been working ok, but a couple of days ago, everytime I cold boot my computer, I have to go in and reset it. Why does it not keep my setting. I've even tried setting it and then shutting down windows to see if it will save the setting but it doesn't.

The cold boot is the problem On windows 98 cold boot will start the system on the last renewable boot up that was shut down the right way If your computer didn't have this seting on the system befor you started cold booting, the setting may not or will not be saved
