My CD ROM drive will not read any discs. I tried to put in a couple of discs but the CD ROM drive won't attempt to read any of them.

I don't know much about the computer because I don't know how to find out how much Ram you have and Some other things.

If the CD ROM drive won't read any of your discs it might be that the lens is dirty so you have to buy a CD ROM cleaning solution,Or you should check if the CD ROM cable were installed backwards.Any fingerprint, dust, and etc can cause a error to your CD ROM drive when is reading or accessing the CD.
