My monitor keeps going into sleep mode and does not come back up when I move the mouse.

I have to turn off the computer and scan drives before it will let me restart. Why could it do this and what can I do to prevent it....Thanks

Some times this happens when you use a broadband service with much older computers It usually freezes the system What you might want to do is prevent the computer from going into sleep mode by going to the control panel and then going into the display and just increase the time before your computer goes to sleep The best solution to stop your computer from freezing will be to upgrade the ram memory The will be the best solution and incase your computer does freeze up try hiting ctrl-alt and delete at the same time this will bring out the device manager which pretty much unfreeze it
