Check your telephone wire

Search function gives me a "not responding" error message when I attempt to use it

Make sure that your telephone wire is hooked up on the back of your computer.

Make sure that th telephone wire isn't in use when you are trying to connect to internet.

Make sure that your dial-up connection is working properly by viewing its properties.

These are some problems that could occur when the search function gives this type of non functional response.
