Why does my computer stall at the beginnig when checking my ck and dvd drives?

Hello, my question is that my computer will not boot up to windows. it stalls at the very begining when checking my cd and dvd drives. But when i disconnect my cd and dvd drive it boots up with no problem. and when i try connecting them again problem comes back. also when my dvd drive is disconnected but my cd drive is connected it boots up fine til i go to my computer and try to select my cd drive it is not there. Well you have to configure them porperly, and that means master and slave It sounds to me like that is what is cousing your pc to stall, a cionflict between the to driver To confgure properly check the jumper settings on the back of the drives and configure them accordingly Remember one master and one slave.
