Whenever I put a game in my computer, I am able to play the game for a little while and then my speakers will crackle and the monitor flickers and clicks off. The CPU doesn't go off, just the monitor. This is especially noticable when I play larger games with expansion packs. I have tried updating my refresh time and the doesn't seem to help. Do you have any idea what this could be?

It seems to me that you might have to upgrade you video card Some older cards are not powerfull enough to handle large and complicated games that use lots of colors Check the system requirements on the game package and check your paperwork that came with your pc, it should tell you how powerfull your video card is and what it can handle
