Why does my computer lock up and not meep time?

MY COMPUTER KEEPS LOCKING UP BUT WILL USUALLY UNLOCK WITH IN A MINUTE OR TWO. iT ALSO DOES NOT KEEP TIME.. i JUST INSATLLED A NEW HARD DRIVE HOPING THIS WAS MY PROBLEM BUT IT STILL CONTINUES. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO TRY NEXT

I think that your CMOS battery might be going that is why your PC can not keep the time, this also might be contributing to your system locking up If your familiar with the inside of a PC than you can change it your self, if not than bring it in to a professional.
