i have two computers networked one laptop and one tower. i recently upgraded my laptop from windows me to windows xp. the problem is that the network wont work anymore. when the laptop had windows me it worked fine(the tower has always had windows xp). after updating the laptop i did the network wizard on both computers and i made the tower the main computer that connects to the internet and the laptop connects through the tower. the network wizard worked fine untill i actually went to see if the network worked i could see all of the other computers files but i couldnt share the internet or play any networked games. so then i thought i would try to make the laptop the server(the one that connects to the internet) this worked fine i could now surf the net on both computers. but still i cannot play any network games. and i want the dektop computer (tower) to be the main one. please can you help.

What versions of XP are you running, If you are running XP professional on both than you can not run and client/server network, you will have to run a peer to peer network Win Xp professional is a real networking OS, not like sever but none the less a networking OS That is the reason you network worked with ME because XP acted as the server In order for your XP network to run Client/Server you will have to get the home ecition of XP and install it your laptop.
