When I turn it on it takes three-five minutes to finish booting. It is about 3 years old and I have added and deleted many programs during that time using either "add/remove programs" or the programs uninstall feature. It sounds like a lot of things are installing as the hard drive keeps spinning. I looked at the start menu and there was not a lot there but most of the files I didn't recognize. Is there something I can do to speed up the start up?
Thanks, Al Hubbard

I have the same problmen with my fathers computer It is running at max cap also I would say to erase the files that you don't recognize, but that might cause another problem Right now it seems that you have not near enough room on your hard drive And you should try upgrading your ram by adding some better memory sticks.
