When I started my computer up after restarting it, the opening music came on and finished and the background came on. After the pointer of the mouse finished showing that it was thinking, it started to flash from normal to big eyeglass to eyeglass and pointer, in a split second. It continude to do this. It still is flashing between them. Aside from that the computer became realy slow and everything began to take for ever. Opening a folder took forever. Then when I went to controll panel to see if i had a program that may need to be taken off, it said that i did not have enough resources to use it. I then restarted my computer, and it came back exactly the same, only it didnt say that it didnt have enough memory. I have a 1.7 ghz processor and it was running like a 500 mghz or slower. Then I tried using everything on norton systemworks but they did not help. I would like to know if there is a reason behind this. How can I fix this problem?

It sounds to me that your drive may have many files and programs The first thing I would do is check the last time you defragmented the drive It may be overdue This will allow your computer to move a little faster when read Another thing you should do is delete all uneccessary files or programs.
