hello, I have a compaq presario 5000US AMD DURON 766,256 RAM,INVIDIA VANTA 8 MEGA,30 GB HD, WINDOWS ME. I BOUGHT A DVD PLAYER I/O MAGIC 16X DVD BDV 316C WITH BUNDLED THE SOFTWARE POWER DVD XP VERSION 4.THE FIRST TIME I PLAYED A DVD (MINE) IT WORKED VERY WELL,THEN I PLAYED A SECOND RENTED AND THE PC CRASHED IT DIDN'T PLAY THE MOVIE AND POPPED AN ERROR MESSAGE POWERDVD ERROR CAUSED BY POWERDVD.DLL. I UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED THE SOFTWARE AND THE ISSUE REPEATS ITSELF.

ALSO IF I PLAY THE SECOND ONE(rented) RIGHT AWAY IT CRASHES(IT DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE THE DVD AND KEPT ASKING ME TO PUT A DVD) AND THEN IF I PLAY THE FIRST ONE IT DOESN'T WORK TOO.

IN DEVICE MANAGER THERE IS NO YELLOW MARK.ONE TIME THE PC SHOWED NO DVD PLAYER BUT WHEN I REBOOTED IT DID. also when I crashed I clicked c\alt\del and it resulted that CPQEADM and MSGSRV32 WEREN'T WORKING.Is ever possible that this second dvd rented did something that crashed the pc?thanks giuseppe

The problem with the second dvd is it not compatible with your system for that your computer crashes. ypu need to reinstall the first one you have and reinstall the driver so it will be recongized.
