How do I set up a peer to peer network?

How do I setup a secure per 2 per network? My brother and I have cox cable and want to share files like Mp3 or JPEG over the network. Is there a way to do this securly without having to email eachother? I don't want to go through a 56K modem, it's too slow.

First you need to install NIC cards in each of your machines Than you need a hub, finally some cat5 cabling to connect your pc One cable from your pc and one from the other PC setup up the protocol and you should be able to share files.
