Why does my computer ask me to reformat a 3.5 inch disk every time I insert one? I've removed and reinstalled the drive and controller through hardware settings. I've physically installed a new floppy drive. Cables (power and ribbon) are fine, as is Pin 1 position. The contoller is on the motherboard. Do I have a bad controller or motherboard? Can I install a PCI floppy driver controller card as a work-around solution (if I can find one)? Thanks for your help!

There is nothing wrong with your floppy or cables all you need to do to fix this problem is clean the inside of your computer mostly the floppy disk get a air can and blow out all the dust in side your pc that is why your floppy is not working.
