Why won't my computer boot up after six months?

I had not turned on my computer for 6 months. I turned it on yesterday and it would not boot up. There was a message to insert boot disk and press enter. Is the boot up disk on a floppy or is it cd? Is there anything wrong with the hard drive?

Thank you,

Johnny

The boot disk is either a floppy or CD depending on what Operating System your running As for the message, maybe the hard dirve is damaged Are you sure no one at all turned on you PC in 6 months Stuff like that doesn't happen by itself.
