Trying to install an operating system on a blank hard drive?

I have wiped the hard drive of all infomation and need to reinstall.

computer starts but does not show C:\ on screen thus i cannot put any software back onto hdd.

can you help on what to do or is needed to fix the problem

You need a Boot disk (Floppy) if you know anyone who has a computer as them to make you a boot disk to start up your system for a new Install.
