How do I disconnect my dial up modem?

I recently went from a dial-up connection to cable. How do I disconnect my dial-up modem?

Is it internal or external, if it is internal than you have to open up the case and remove it from from the slot, if it is external that just remove the serial cable, if it is internal and intergradeted on the board than you will have to disable it in the CMOS.
