Why won't my cd-r or rw play on my mitsumi 12x cdrom drive?

I can't play cd-r or rw on my mitsumi 12x cdrom drive. But they work on my dvd player console and stereo. What's up with that?

It might be your cd ROM drive, check the paperwork that came with it and see what ii is capable of playing and not.
