Hi;

Every time I run internet Explorer I get the following pop up errors:

secure.exe intilization failure 0xc0000142

or

cmd.exe intilization failure 0xc0000142

or

HIDDEN.EXE intilization failure 0xc0000142

every time I click ok, they multiply and create tens of processes.

I re-installed Internet explorer, no luck.

Also used Norton Utilities, it fixed other problems but not this one.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Jamal Berkat.

This behavior can occur because the administrator has not assigned the user the right to bypass traverse checking.

To find out which users have the right to bypass traverse checking, look in Group Policy for the Windows 2000-based server and follow these steps:

Click Computer Configuration.

Click Windows Settings.

Click Security Settings.

Click Local Policies.

Click User Rights Assignment.

Double-click Bypass traverse checking.
