Why wion't my disk drives appear in my computer?

why doesnt my disk drives appear in "my computer" ?

is there a driver or some kind of software that i need to install?

this only happened when i once resarted my computer and put a cd in. i looked in my computer and there was no cd drive

The problem might be the cd in the CD ROM remove the cd from the CD ROM and see if your drives reappear, they should.
