Why won't my USB ports work cosistantly?

I am having problems with my USB ports. They work when I boot up, but after a while they stop. The time they work can be as little as 5 min and as much 8 hours, no consistancy.

When they stop working, power is lost to the USB devices and the computer does not recognize them. I have a Jabil motherboard with AMD K7 Athlon processor.

Any sugesstions???

Well one reason is there may be a conflict, check the device manager to see if there are any, If not you may have a short The USB ports themselves might be malfuntioning.
