Before I left school I turned off my computer and unplugged everything. I am home and trying to set up my computer again. I plugged everything in to my surge protector, plugged that in, and turned it on. The lights on everything came on and i hear the computer whirring, but it isn't booting up, and I can't shut it off either. What could the problem be?

A computer is a very deliquet peace of equipment You should never unplug it or anithing on it The problem shoul be that your hard drive crash You might have to format the hardrive and re-install the verssion of windows you previwslly had.

If all you did was unplug the computer and plug it back in at home then its not a software problem, It might be a hardware problem Open up the computer and see if everything is in place, Maybe while taking the computer from one place to another it could have fallen and some components might have been shaken loose So try to see if the hardware is fine.
