HELP!!! While trying to install an ethernet card, my son mistakenly launched a Turbolinux Server 6.0 Lite CD. Thinking it was the correct CD he followed all the directions (I think) and has now changed the O/S on our desk top to Linux from Windows 98! I tried to fix it with the system restore disk, but it didn't work. Comes up "checkdir error" on everything. System won't even boot. When I try to reboot after restore cd is complete, all I get is a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left hand corner. Can't type any commands. Nothing! Frustation is at an all time high! How do I uninstall Linux? I just want my good old Windows 98 back! I hope you can help. It's only an emachine with 600mhz, but it worked great for the kids needs. I'm pretty good at figuring things out, but this is way past my league! Thanks for your time!

First create partitions and format the hard dirve and reinstall the Win 98 OS In order to do this you must obtain a Win 98 boot disk, insert this in the floppy and configure the PC to boot froim the floppy first On the boot disk all the files necessary to format the hard drive are on their At the C:\> type format C , this will erase the hard drive After that still using the boot disk type C:\> fdisk This will allow you to create partitions in order to install the new OS.
