Several weeks ago our computer stopped recognizing the other hard drives in the computer. We brought the computer into a tech who said the jumpers were wrong, even though the computer had worked this way for almost two years. Now, when you go into My Computer or Explore, the search light comes on looking for the other drives. Eventually they will find them. This is real slowing down our computer work. After getting out of My Computer, or Explore and going back in, the same issue occurs. We did have a Trojan virus several weeks ago, but we were able to remove it. We also added additional RAM about the same time, raising the RAM to 756. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you can do is add more virtual disk space on your harddrives to make room for processing power Look iinto using a RAID (Redundant Array of Independant Disk) subsystem instead of using two hard disk With one drive typically c:\ spanning two disk any problem with the hardware on eitheer of the two disk will prevent the partition from slowing down

Also you can create more partition without loosing any information on to the existing partitions by using a software utility called partition magic Then you can avoid problems by seperating the data files in seperate partitions and by allocating 20GB of harddrive space for your Windows XP operating system files in the c:

CAUTION: WHEN USING PARTITION MAGIC THE FIRMWARE (BIOS) ON YOUR HARDDISK WILL BE REPROGRAMMED FOR THE USE OF PARTITION MAGIC ONLY.
