When I open Internet Explorer it opens numerous windows but won't load any actually webpages and email can't connect to the server.

Chances are this program you refer too may be running as a background process and could potentially be chewing up unnessary bandwidth as well as other system resources Other components may have been installed along with the application in question and are probobly affecting your systems performance I suggest uninstalling the program and using a spyware removal tool such as spybot search and destroy or adaware

here are some links

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Install and run both from these apps That should fix your problem.
