Why doesn't windows detect my cd and cd writer drive in My Computer?

my cd drive and cd wirter drive do not detect in windows when i click on my computer, but they are detected on bootup and in bios they both are there? how can i get them back in windows? is there anything i need to check?

Re-install the drive, windows will pick up the new hardware and recognize it and it should show on My Computer.
