What is memory

I have recently had a problem opening Microsoft Streets and Trips. A message comes up and says I don'y have enough virtual memory what does this mean and how can I fix it?

You do not have enough memory you have to open your computer and see what type of motherboard you have and the type of memory then you perches a 128mb or a 256mb that compatable for the motherboard and you install it.
