How can I get back on my computer once it has crashed?

My computer just suddenly crashed for no apparent reason. I turn it on and everything starts up, but nothing happens. Everything is hooked up right, everything's seated properly, and everything's connected, but STILL nothing happens. What's wrong?

Because it crashed, it was not shutdown the right way so files were corrupted, have you tried to run the boot disk when u start it up, this may work and get you back on to see what the problem is?
