Clean out the cob webs from your Outlook Express!

Get in there and clean out your Outlook Express emails!

This question was answered on July 3, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

At one time or another we all end up with full Outlook Express message folders and sometimes there is stuff older than the hills The reason for this is that when you delete a message or move it to another folder, OE simply marks the original message as deleted without actually removing it

To clean out your folders just follow the steps below:

1 Right click on the Deleted Items folder and empty it

2 Next choose 'File' and then 'Folder'

3 Lastly pick 'Compact All Folders' (this frees up all the space occupied by those marked messages)

If you've never done this before, it may take a long time to empty out the folders Usually you will see OE load noticeably faster.
