Why doesn't my monitor recieve a signal?

My monitor has power to it but says that it is not receiving a signal. I have tried two video cards,that seem to be placed correctly, but still receive the same message. Do you have any suggestions or ideas what the problem could be?

There is a connection problem inside the monitor, the thing that would be best is too buy a new one, it seems that there is damamge to the monitor that you have now But, before you do that I would try to test another monitor on your system just to be sure.
