How do I get my CD ROM to Automatically detect and play CD's?

my computer no longer automaticaly detects and plays my cd 's as it has done in the past. i have tryed numerous cd 's so it is not the cd. i have two cd players and both of them will not auto play as both did befor. i have checked the device manager and the auto insert notification box is checked and i have removed and installed it several times to force the system to reinstall the drivers and still NO GO. i have also searched for new updated drivers and the system sez the best one is already installed. what else can i check ? any and all help will be greatly appriated. THANKS.

Double Click on My Computer Right Click on the CDROM Click Properties Click AutoPlay Tab Click on arrow and choose music CD on Actions, Click Select An Action To Perform and click your music player (ex Real One, MusicMatch Jukebox) Then Click Apply then OK.
