My computer won't recognize my cd rom drive?

I cannot get my cdrom drive to work it just wont play anything its like the computer doesn't recognise it anymore

What you can do is to check and see if the cd rom drive still shows on the computer if it is not there you can uninstall it and re-install the drive back on the computer this should correct the problem, the computer should now recognize the cd rom is there.

If reinstalling the drives doesn't work at all then you have hardware problems If the drivers all right and the cd rom isn't picking up anything the drive is no good and needs to get replaced.

I had the same problem, i would put a cd in the drive and nothing would play The drive was "fine" but everytime i put in a cd with the cd inside the drive would tell me to put in a cd It wasn't reading any type of cd so i tried everything and the result was the drive was messed up and i had to get it replaced.
