Should I remove battery to preserve its life when using AC as power source?

I use my laptop as desktop replacement and AC as power source.

Should I remove the battery to preserve it's life and prevent any possible damage fro a battery "gone bad"?

You can remove the battery, this will save the life on it If you are using a AC as the power source only, then there is really no need to have to battery in the computer with the AC
