I am going to build a new Soyo K7ADA XP 2000 computer (1.67 ghz) with 256 MB of Ram. I cannot decide what Operation System I should install. Windows 98SE, Windows XP, Windows ME or Windows 2000. The computer will be used for home use, spreadsheets, word processing, gaming, and cd burning. I am also looking for stability and speed. What do you recommend? Maybe you could give an explanation as to the pros and cons of each operating system.

Thank you!!

Kim from Arizona

Kim:

Windows 98 will not support many new games that are comping out so that would not be a wise choice.

Windows ME has many bugs in it, and is known as a operating system that crashes very often.

Windows 2000 is a great operating system for everything you want, but is more of a networking/business operating system.

There are many versions of windows XP, the 2 you should be looking at would be Windows XP home edition, and Windows XP professional This operating system is very user friendly and easy to use Many if not all games are supported by windows XP This OS can be used as either multimedia and or professional use I would reccomend Windows XP because it is more of a home operating system then windows 2000

Sincerely,

Dimitrios Theodorou
