Email Attachment

Every email attachment I get is deleted before i can open it.The message I get is "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachment in your email." I have the Norton Anitvirus 2003 on my system and Outlook Express. I had friends send me attchaments that I know are safe and they get deleted before I can opn them. Is there something that may be set up wrong on my system or do I need to change something?

By default Outlook Express does not let you view or open email attachments In order to change this you need to open Outlook Eepress and select TOOLS from the top menu, then OPTIONS, and the SECURITY, there uncheck the check box that reads "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" This should let you open attachments now.
