I have bought all new components trying to fix this problem. I have checked all jumer settings and they are correct. I have also made sure not to short the board. When I plug in the processor ram and video card (nothing else) I cannot get into the bios. literally no signal goes to the monitor. also when I plug in the ide cable that attaches to the hard drive the hard drive will not power up, but if the hard drive is not attached to the MB it will power up just fine. The weirdest thing is that the CPU fan and the fan on my video card will start but the computer will not start. Thanks for any advice you can give

Do you have an extra monitor by any chance? the problem could be the monitor its self that it is not getting any signal.

for the hard drive are you sure you have the ribbon on right? the red line goes on the inside the red line on the ribbon so the two red lines are next to each other (power and mb ribbons)

try to get new ribbon there might be with them its self
