Why does my monitor go dark the return to full brightness after giving it a good tap?

Why does my monitor go dark after a while?

And return to full brightness if I give the monitor a good tap.

It is definately not a screen saver, moving the mouse has no effect.

Maybe you shoudl check the wires and see if they are secure in the ports Or this could be that the Monitor is wearing out, or not getting enough power.
