How to fix your defrag problem.

My defragmeter is not working. It starts by checking the drive for errors for a long time and then says that another program is writing to the drive and that I should quit the program to make the process go faster. However there isn't another program running. Thanks for your help.

If you have another utility program that can defragment your computer, that could be the reason why your Windows defragmenter does not work It would not matter if the other program is currently running, the OS justs detects that it is there and it will not go on with the process So if you have something like Norton Antivirus or any other 3rd party software and it has a defragmenter use the 3rd party one.
