I keep having rpcss errors in unknown. Sometimes I crash first than at reboot I get the error.I'm home- networked to a windows 2000 operating system. My first thought is that it is networked related because my son recently upgraded the windows 2000 computer from a windows 98. This seems to coincide with my errors. Also my scandisk seemed to stop working along with it. I also wonder if my Black Ice firewall might be causing the problems.Any trouble shooting suggestions? Thanks.

Internally, a numeric data type is used within this section of RPCSS code, which is subject to overflow on a dual processor computer

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000 For additional information, go to the Microsoft Knowledge Base and look for the following article number 260910 How to Obtain the Latest Windows 2000 Service Pack

Good Luck!
