My computer fails to boot. I went through the Dell support and they told me it was a memory problem after unplugging all the cards, memory and chip. I replaced the memory and still have the same problem. With the power on I get a beep code of 5-2-2-1 and the lights on the back are a-b = yellow and c-d = green (solid no blinking). Also with the power switched off, if I unplug the power cord then re-plug it in. Without touching the power switch the computer immediately gives me the beep code then just stops. What is it's problem? Could I have a memory problem still? (with the new memory?)

Hello,

Okay I did some research on your beep error code of 5-2-2-1 as well as the lights What i understand from the beep error code is you might have an unsupproted memory device count or technology As far as the lights, corresponds saying the memory failed to be sized or enabled and it suggest reseating the memory moudules.

For more info here is the exact site where i researched the information Its from Dell support.

This site shows the lights and what they mean along with the error beep codes

I hope this has helped you.

Good luck
